Bible Church
STATEMENT OF FAITH
1. We believe that the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, are the
inspired Word of God without error in the original writings, the complete
revelation of His will for the salvation of men, and the divine and final
authority for all Christian faith and life. We believe in the literal,
historical and grammatical interpretation of scripture.
2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:21
2. We believe that there is one God, Creator of all things, infinitely
perfect and eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy
Spirit.
Genesis 1:1, 26-27; Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 43:10-11;
Matthew 3:16-17; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 Peter 1:2
3. We believe Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived
of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, He died on the cross,
a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. Further, He rose
bodily from the dead, ascending into heaven, where, at the right hand
of the Majesty on High, He is now our High Priest and Advocate.
Isaiah 7:14; 9:6-7; Matthew 1:18-25; 28:5-8; Luke
22:70; John 1:1, 14; 3:16; 10:30; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; 2 Corinthians
5:20-21; 1 Timothy 2:5; Hebrews 1:3, 8; 4:14-16
4. We believe the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord
Jesus Christ and, during this age, to convict men of sin, regenerate the
believing sinner, and indwell and seal all believers at the moment of
salvation. He also guides, instructs, and empowers the believer for godly
living and service. We believe that God has given all His children certain
gifts and it is our responsibility to make use of them in building up
the body of Christ (the Church).
John 7:37-39; 14:16-17; 16:7-15; Acts 2:38; 10:44-48;
Romans 8:1-17; 12:5-8; 1 Corinthians 6:19-20; 12:4-14; 2 Corinthians 5:5;
Galatians 5:16; Ephesians 1:13-14; 4:12, 30; 5:18
5. We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God,
living in perfection and open fellowship with God. When Adam sinned against
God, however, the whole race became stained with the sin nature and inherited
spiritual death. Alienated from a Holy God and bound by sin, mankind is
totally dependent on the grace of God to remedy his lost condition.
Genesis 1:25-27; 2:16-17; 3:1-20; Romans 3:10-18,
23; 5:6, 8; 6:23; Ephesians 2:1-3, 11-12
6. We believe that men can be saved from sin and come into possession
of eternal life by realizing that they are sinners, believing that the
Lord Jesus Christ loves them and has provided salvation through His own
shed blood upon Calvary. Salvation is by grace through faith in Christ
as personal Savior and Sin-bearer and is entirely a free gift of God.
Mans works cannot possibly achieve salvation. We believe in the
eternal security of the believer.
John 1:12-13; 3:14-18; 5:24; 10:28-29; Acts 4:12;
Romans 1:16-17; 4:4-5; 5:1; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5; 1 Peter 1:18-19
7. We believe that the personal, pre-millennial, and imminent return
of our Lord Jesus Christ is our blessed hope and should have
a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer. We believe
in the pre-tribulational rapture of the church.
1 Thessalonians 1:10; 4:13-18; 5:9; Titus 2:13;
1 John 2:28
8. We believe there will be bodily resurrection of all the dead, of the
believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord, and of the
unbeliever to judgment and everlasting conscious punishment.
Daniel 12:2-3; Luke 16:19-31; John 5:28-29; 1 Corinthians
15:22, 51-54; Philippians 1:23; 1 Thessalonians 4:16; 2 Thessalonians
1:8-9; Hebrews 9:27; Revelation 20:4-6; 10-15
9. We believe the true Church is composed of all such persons, who, through
saving faith in Jesus Christ, have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit
and are united together in the body of Christ, of which He is the Head.
We believe that all Christians are called and commissioned by the Lord
to live to the glory of God, to be His witnesses, and to make disciples
of Jesus Christ.
Matthew 28:19; 1 Corinthians 6:20; 10:31; 12:13;
Ephesians 1:22-23
10. We believe that Jesus Christ committed to the Church ordinances of
baptism and the Lords Supper (Communion) to be observed until His
return. Every believer should be baptized in obedience to Jesus Christ.
The mode of baptism practiced is immersion.
Matthew 28:19; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26
